DR. CHARMAINE MAGALE, DC, CCSP, ART
Since its creation in 1895, chiropractic is the use of adjustments to the spine and other joints in the body to remove interference from the nervous system, allowing the body to function at an optimal level and heal itself.
This interference on the nervous system is referred to as a subluxation. By being adjusted, the chiropractor removes the subluxation, which allows the nervous system to function as it is intended, and the body is able to return to its optimal functioning.
The nervous system controls each and every cell in your body. It is a self-sufficient system, based on an innate intelligence of the body to maintain and heal itself. It is this innate intelligence that will heal a cut in the skin without being told to do so. It is this same concept that allows for the sperm and the egg to come together to form a single complete cell, then divide several times into identical cells before somehow dividing into differentiated cells that will eventually make up the human body.
Chiropractors are specialized in the detection and the correction of neural interferences.
The Nervous System
When there is a neural interference - like a misalignment, or subluxation of the spine - the communication between the brain and the body is reduced, deformed or interrupted.
The nervous system controls each and every cell in your body. It must function at 100% of its capacity to obtain maximal health and to maintain the communication between the brain and the rest of the body.
The spinal cord is located inside the spine and the nerves that branch out from it, are the pathways of your neuronal messages.
A subluxation is any interference on the nervous system and could trigger:
Spinal dysfunction and decreased range of motion
Pressure on the nerve roots and associated symptoms such as pain, tingling and/or numbness
Permanent damages to the inter-vertebral discs and ligaments
Joint degeneration to the spine and/or extremities due to daily wear from compensations
